About Letmo
A brief overview of the company and its founder.
About the Company: Letmo
Let your money work for you.
The name Letmo comes from a simple idea of mine: let your money work for you. In my life, I have seen many people work extremely hard, yet still struggle to build lasting financial security. Often, their hard-earned money is spent impulsively or poorly allocated, meaning their money never truly has the chance to work on their behalf. I believe a deeper understanding of investing can help people not only generate additional returns, but also think more clearly about money, spending, opportunity cost, and ultimately make better financial decisions.
I created Letmo with three primary goals in mind:
- To force myself to write down my investment framework in a complete and concrete manner. I believe the writing process forces me to think more deeply, clarify my logic, and expose weak assumptions.
- To make my investment record more public, traceable, and easier to review over time. It also makes it easier to receive feedback and avoid thinking in isolation.
- To build a public body of work, which may help open up professional opportunities for me.
About the Founder: Han
Scientist by training, entrepreneur at heart.
I'm a scientist by training. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Genetics & Genomics from the University of Michigan in 2025. My doctoral research included:
- Creating and assessing a new rat reference genome, an essential resource for biomedical studies.
- Developing a novel computational pipeline for inferring historical recombination, ancestral haplotypes, and population diversity.
- Establishing a statistical framework for evaluating the detection power of Copy Number Variations from Next-Generation Sequencing data.
I'm an entrepreneur at heart, with a long-standing interest in business. Building something from the ground up and seeing it flourish gives me a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Both of my parents are first-generation entrepreneurs, and I grew up around family businesses on both sides of my family. My early attempts at entrepreneurship included creating a self-checkout convenience store at my high school and running a small flower business during Valentine's Day. Alongside my scientific training, I also hold a BA degree in Accounting, which gave me formal business training in the practical details of financial statements and business operations.
